Green Wesak Initiative:

An effort by BMV to reduce the temple’s impact on the environment by managing the enormous amounts of waste generated, as the temple opens its gate to thousands of devotees to reflect and pray during Wesak, annually.

Green Wesak will make its presence felt this Wesak Day with the collection cardboard boxes, papers, plastic bottles, aluminum, used candles, used oil, as well as fruit, flowers and vegetable scraps.

So, as we celebrate, reflect, and pray on this Wesak Day, may we also be mindful of the waste we create and avoid careless disposal.
